The question of coping with the growing passengers’ demands was discussed Turing the First CEE Passenger Rolling Stock Forum organised by Railway Market Forum. The conference took place on April 16th in the Marriott hotel, Warsaw, Poland. – The regions, who in Poland are to definitely take over responsibility for organizing regional passenger services, want to change the image of railways. We cannot pretend that a modernised wreck is the same as a Mercedes. In certain time we need to renew a fleet of 1000 EMUs. Rolling stock is the most important element of the Polish rail renaissance – said Jerzy Kriger, director of the department of transport of the Wielkopolska region marshal office, at the panel debate summarizing the conference.
